Bookkeeping for Shopify stores

Shopify Payments pays out bundled and net, refunds cut straight through your payouts, and sales tax across states is your problem, not Shopify's. We make sure your Shopify numbers and your books always tell the same story.

What we set up

From payout to filing

  • Payout reconciliation: every Shopify Payments payout automatically split into orders, processing fees and refunds
  • Multiple gateways (Shopify Payments, PayPal, Klarna/Afterpay) each on their own clearing account
  • Multi-currency: sales in other currencies converted and booked correctly
  • Sales tax by state tracked and reconciled — the basis for correct registrations and filings
  • Returns and gift cards with the right revenue treatment
  • Cost overview per gateway: you see what every payment method really costs
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why doesn't my Shopify Payments payout match my revenue?

Because the payout is a bundle: several orders together, minus processing fees, minus refunds, sometimes spread over multiple days. Without a connection that splits the payout per order, there is always a difference you have to explain by hand.

I use Shopify Payments and PayPal side by side. Can that live in one set of books?

Yes. We set up a separate clearing account per processor, so every money flow reconciles on its own. You also see immediately what each processor really costs you — useful input for the annual rate check.

Does Shopify handle my sales tax?

Shopify can calculate and collect sales tax at checkout, but registering in states and filing the returns remains your job — Shopify is not a marketplace facilitator for your own store. That is our sales tax & nexus service.
